Bedtime For Baby Star Full Book Images! Criminal Minds Exclusive!

by Lee on November 10, 2011

As mentioned last night in this post, Criminal Minds created a book for their episode There’s No Place Like Home. Agent JJ Jareau read her son Henry Bedtime For Baby Star and brought a tear to the eyes of millions. I have the inside scoop on the book and wanted to share the images with you here. I’ll be updating these later tonight with high res images but for now this is what I can offer. To be clear, this is the entire book, there were no other words or pages as it is a PROP.

I saw this episode of Criminal Minds last night and really loved the book that JJ was reading to her son Henry. It was really touching. I loved it.
So I started to search the internet to see what book it was and if I could get one. Found out it was a book made up by someone who works at Criminal Minds. Brilliant. We love your show and think it’s the BEST show on running. We don’t miss an episode. Will you be creating any of the books? If you do I would love to get one. Please let me know.
Thanks.

I have 4 grandsons and another one on the way. I have dozens of books that I have read to them as they grew up. My youngest is 6 and oldest 13. This scene made me cry and it brought back all the memories of me reading to my 3 adult kids when they were young and my now 4 grandkids. They all know how to read now so the books are in boxes. We have another baby boy on the way. He arrives in January and I would love to have this book to read to him especially since it was created by one of favorite shows. I will read the story of Baby Star to our six year old but the best is yet to come when our new baby arrives. My Grandkids live with me now and they are my Joy. Thank you all and as soon as the book is done, please let me know. Thank you and have a GOOD NIGHT. From Grandma Reina in Christmas Florida :-)

I have been searching for this book since Wednesday evening. I finally got wind that it was a story written for this episode. Well the author is amazing. It is better than and bedtime story that I read my boys age 2 and 3. I was in tears after hearing JJ recite the words to Henry’s favorite bedtime story. Are they going to publish any of this book. I would love to buy one and would recommend it to any other mother as well.

I also have been searching for this book, then came across this post. I am expecting a baby boy January 31st and wanted it for our little baby star.
If this book was to go into production, I would LOVE to have it. I have saved the recording and will write the story down just so I can read it to my little man. This is also one of my absolute favorite shows and have been watching since day one.

I love the show Criminal Minds, #1 on my DVR to record. The story JJ read to her son, Bedtime for Baby Star, needs to be a real book. I would love to buy it for my grandchildren. Made me cry.

Bedtime for Baby Star must be published. Donate the profits to a children’s
charity. That way many lives can be touched by this beautiful story.

Since their throw-together book will never be published, you can try another author with a similar book on the shelves right now…
“Twinkle, Twinkle, You’re My Star” by Sandra Magsamen
Don’t get down, go check it out. A Grandmother who already did my homework : )

Hey there is a book like it that some of the words were pulled from its call ill love you forever
As the story begins, a son has just been born. The story then continues through the life of the boy until he is a grown man. The mother continues to rock her son to sleep singing “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.” Later, the role is reversed and he holds his elderly mother and says “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my Mommy you’ll be.” At the very end of the story, the mother passes away and her son is the father of a little girl, rocking her to sleep; singing the same song that his mother used to sing to him.

We have the book you mention, Love You Forever, which we were introduced to, before we ever had kids. It has always been one of our favorite bedtime stories.

But this poem — written for a TV episode, of all things — has a unique resonance for me, as I think you may understand. Years ago, we lost a child we never had the chance to meet, one we and our two boys have actually come to know by name, as Baby Star. This was a very sad chapter in our lives, but one that has a pretty cool ending. It’s a bit of a long story, perhaps, for this venue, but one I suspect would have an unusual, and yet somehow familiar ring to it.

My thanks to the one(s) who wrote the poem for Criminal Minds.

I watched this episode, and just like many other views, I researched the book. I so want criminal minds to make a full version and sell it. It brought tears to my heart and would love to read it to my children. It hits close to my heart. I grew up in the military, and I am a Police Officer. This woul be the perfect book to read at bedtime, even when I am not at home with my children.

Interestingly, as much as I like the show and this poem, I noticed the prop book, Bedtime for Baby Star, as produced for this episode, appears to have a typo in it. If I’m not mistaken, JJ correctly (at least, more poetically) recites the end of the poem, over the phone as, “…because you’ll always BE my baby star.” Whereas the printed book, as briefly shown onscreen, reads, “…because YOU’RE always my baby star.”

One of those trivial inconsistencies that malcontents love to point out, the discrepancy is easily explained, since the character is supposedly quoting the book from memory, she could easily miss the phrasing — except the version JJ actually recites makes more sense and has an easier rhythm than what happens to be on the page. If they ever decide to publish an actual book, I guess they’ll have to choose.

I absolutely love to watch Criminal Minds. My 13 year old son was watching this episode with me and saw me in tears as JJ read to Henry. I told him I wanted the book for christmas and nothing else. I immediately went online searching and we went to all the book stores in town the next day but could not find it. I had saved the episode so I could write the story down and decided to do another search. That’s when I came across this post. Please, Please publish this book. I would love to have it to add to my collection for my children and their children and their children . . . . .

I love the version JJ recited “…because you’ll always BE my baby star.” Sounds much better!

But I must say, I loved the episode where JJ (Jennifer Jarade) is reading the story “Bedtime for Baby Star” to her son, Henry. It brought tears to my eyes. I love the book and I was wondering if there’s a chance that it will ever be published? Please make the book available to us., because it’s a beautiful story. I would love to be able to share the story with my grandson who is 4.

I agree with everyone who sent a message. I must have this book for my grandchildren. Maybe if we all sign a petition they will publish it. Think of all the money that can be made. If the money doesn’t interest the writer think of how you could help a charity for children, like MDA or St Luke. Publish it for the children, it could save one of their lives.

I am not sure that I could say anything to help this book be published, I almost died 3 years ago. My recovery has been long and hard and still on going. I look at my son and I want to have a different life for us. I want him to remember the special moments we shared. When JJ was reading to her son, it touched my heart in away I could never explain. Yes, I two cried when I heard Bedtime for Baby Star! So I have been looking for this book, I hope to be able to fine it one day.

Criminal Minds, I love your show and this is one more reason to love you! Inga
