Anyone who knows me well, knows that while I go on and on about being a Marvel fan, that truth is I’m all about Superman. The Man of Steel melts my heart and invades my dreams. The only tattoo I’ve ever considered was of his symbol, but thought better of it at the last minute. No matter the skill of the talent, the direction of the movie or show, I find little fault in a Superman production. I simply can’t, I’m just thrilled to see him on the screen. So when I saw Batman, who I find far less enticing, this past Saturday and the Man of Steel trailer aired I was giddy with joy.
This time our hero is played Henry Cavill, of Tudors fame. He is a very talented actor and I’m looking forward to seeing how what he’ll deliver on screen. Lois Lane is being played by the always adorable Amy Adams. I know she’s got a feisty side so I think she’ll be great! There are a few other really great celebs playing smaller roles such as Diane Lane as Ma Kent, the always intense Michael Shannon as General Zod and Michael Kelly of The Adjustment Bureau fame as Steve Lombard. That’s only the tip of the Fortress of Solitude by the way, there are so many more known names in the movie I didn’t mention! You’ll have to go check it out for yourselves.
The trailer itself was a bit backwoods for my taste but they did live on a farm and play in corn fields so I can’t really complain. There certainly wasn’t much Metropolis but I’m sure those trailers will come as we near closer to the release date of Summer 2013.
