Delve into the mind of Tim Burton and combine the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas with the horror flick Pet Cemetary then toss in a dash of puppy love favorite Clifford The Big Red Dog and you get Frankenweenie. I might be exaggerating but not by much.
From the website:
After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
Never before did I imagine a children’s movie about reanimation but if anyone can pull it off in a completely non-creepy way it will be Burton. This is a movie my children are already excited about and I have a feeling I will allow them to see it because it seems to have a lot of emotion behind it and undoubtedly a great message.
Frankenweenie will be in theaters October 5, 2012. You can learn more by visiting http://disney.go.com/frankenweenie/

I’m not sure how I feel about this movie…it’s definitely more Nightmare before Christmas than say Bambi…
Looks interesting…..has anybody here seen the original? I think it was Tim Burton’s first movie back in the mid-80′s and was a live action movie. I saw it as a kid. It’s really strange how he’s remaking his own movie. This must be the version he wanted to make but was unable to back then
