This past Monday I found myself at my favorite movie studio, the one and only Warner Bros. Now don’t tell anyone I said that, the other movie studio’s will get their feelings hurt. But in all actuality I really do have a great time when I visit their 142 acres in Burbank, CA. This time I was there for a quick tour and the chance to hear about the OutMyWindow Photo Sharing application.
My day was made perfect with great company such as Lynsey with MoscatoMom.com, Shannon with TheMommy-Files.com and Karen with TheMommyTimes.com. These women made my tour, which I had taken once in the past, so much more enjoyable. To have a foursome of television and movie loving geeks just like myself along for the ride was exactly what I needed to perk up my Birthday. Oh yeah, it was also my Birthday.
Our tour guide Bob was a real life Scene It game. He could re-enact any television or movie scene in full character whether it included song or dance, accent or disability. He was a gem and had us rolling in the aisles of the cart. If you ever encounter Bob be sure he does his Michael Jackson/Aflonso Ribeiro bit, it’s worth every penny you spend on your ticket. He’s that talented. Here’s a bit of advice, be sure to take a bathroom break before he gets to The Mask scene, trust me.
Every time you take the WB Tour you are going to see something different. Yes, you are going to see the same things again and again, but each tour guide has their own specialties and will point out different things. For example, on my previous tour Thom didn’t point out that a certain house was used on the set of Friends. Bob not only pointed this house out, but allowed us to go inside and stand on the staircase which was used in a scene of the show where Ross comes down in his father’s tuxedo ready to rescue Rachel from being stood up for the prom. Check all of us out on the staircase!
We also had a chance to stop in at Merlotte’s Bar and Grille from HBO’s True Blood. I know I’ve been here before but I’ve never taken a picture. I feel like one of Sookie’s friends hanging out in Bon Temp! That’s not such a good thing though because that Sookie sure leaves a trail of bodies behind her. But on the flip side there is that brother of her’s Jason. Dancing with danger I tell ya…decisions, decisions.
Finally another stop in to Central Perk so my fellow bloggers could enjoy some coffee. I’m kidding of course, Central Perk has been out of commission for some time, however we were able to act the part as Monica, Chandler and the rest of the gang did for 10 seasons. That’s the real couch and even the real coffee cups that were part of the set!
The second part of our day was the presentation of OutMyWindow, an application that applies a new idea to photo sharing, privacy. OutMyWindow isn’t meant for all 500 of your Facebook friends, but instead those that really matter most like your closest friends and family. The reason for this is because of the black hole of privacy.
Did you know that many social networking sites could license your pictures to third party advertisers? They actually allow search engines to index your photos so they can be downloaded by anyone at anytime, anywhere. This means your babies bathtub picture could easily turn up in another country on the side of a bus! I’m not joking around about that either, these things happen and you may not even find out about it. I think many of us recall what happened to Danielle Smith from ExtraordinaryMommy.com when her family photo was used without her permission for an ad in the Czech Republic.
The OutMyWindow app will tout the camera, photo sharing and secure storage all in one. A big draw for me is that the image quality is said to be retained. You’ll be able to use the app on your smart phone, tablet, computer, connected television and digital photo frame. That is pretty sweet.

I had an awesome time with you too girl! You made my trip and we were the “cool” ones on the tour – ha ha! AKA the only ones who responded to ALL of Bob’s comments.
