I won’t lie, I definitely pushed myself far too hard and now my throat hurts and I’m far too tired and feel run down. However flying into LA Friday at the crack of dawn so I could make closing night of Pageant of the Masters was by far worth it. I was lucky to meet up with my wonderful friends Victoria and Caryn (from Rockinmama.net) and the experience was as always delightful. Such a great duo of positive women to help recharge my soul.
The show itself was as to be expected, perfect. I’ll write up a review later. For now I just wanted to let you all know that I am here safe and I have a full week of crazy fun insanity lined up to share with you. But for now I had to show you the picture that Victoria made for me.
Every year at Festival of the Arts, which is the Art Show side of Pageant of the Masters, they have a print making booth where you can create your own small piece of take away art. You simply get a piece of styrofoam, dig into it with a pencil and then paint over it. Once finished you roll it through a press onto a piece of heavy paper and voila, instant art.
Victoria is an artist and each year her print far outweighs the rest of ours. This year she made Caryn and I go do something and got all secretive on us. Half an hour later she presented us with our gifts. Mine was of Jeremy Renner and she titled it “The Archer of Love”. Notice the little arrows in the corner. While she didn’t quite capture his round jaw to perfection, it’s truly the thought that counts and this will be put on my cubicle wall where I can look at it everyday. For Caryn she made a Matthew McHonahoweveryouspellhisname. It was awesome as well.
Such great times with such great friends. More to follow.
